Post Saturnalia

So things are changing and, like most people, I don't like it. But before it got too crazy I wanted to give my most recent collection of roommates some special Christmas gifts. Here's two of them;

Hand painted pair of Converse All Stars inspired by Tupac Shakur's poem "The Rose that Grew from Concrete," with an owl theme.

A Shannonized collage of past works (and one new one).

These were really fun to work on and I think they were well received. When I get pictures of the other two pieces I'll post those, as well.

Large Punisher

I heard a Big Pun song today and felt inspired to rip off not him but Marvel, as well!

Pooh the Glutton

Oldie but a goodie. Pooh is out of control. Piglet paid the price. At least he was honey glazed. Tasty!

Iron Man

Not the hero we deserve but the hero we need...to have an intervention for.

The Illustration of Adam

I’d imagine if you’re creating something as important as Man you’d probably want to do a few sketches.

Blood in The Water

Character I came up with a little while back. McShark. Being bitten by a radioactive spider is all well and good but when it's a shark, well, there's more of a cost.

Hands of Blue

Next up is River and Simon Tam. These Firefly drawings are pretty fun.

The Man They Call Jayne

Watching Firefly with my girlfriend and I felt inspired. Jayne is someone we can believe in. A leader of men. And he has a cool hat!

At The Beach

With all these polar vortexes the beach is looking pretty attractive, isn't it?

X-Men

This one was fun. I love the idea of young people being the face of what is essentially a fight for civil rights. They can be super serious and worry about everything like Cyclops but also fun loving like Iceman. (Or rich snobs like Angel).

The Baby Battle

A commissioned piece I did recently. I wanted to go in to detail on exactly how a baby's sex is determined. As you can see it's an epic space battle for a giant egg planet with avatars the two partners  pilot in their sleep.

Science, bitch!

Work

I drew this at work when I was with The insurance company. It was how I felt. Usually can't find the words but I think this says a lot.

Cellartopian Gothic

I drew this so long ago. I don't even think twitter was a thing back then. Pixarina and Moldie, or, as the tabloids will come to know them; Moldarina, in romantic, bloody shovel bliss.

Heart on the loose

Basically, let your heart make the decisions or it will liberate itself from your chest cavity and leave you dying in a dark alley.

I need to figure out some stories for this guy. Can you imagine a bloody heart hitting on women in a bar? I'd say it writes itself but it doesn't. I have to write it. Damn heart.

Whale of a day

I like this for a couple of reasons. First, when I drew it the Life of Pi film was coming out but I wasn't familiar with the story. I saw the movie, then saw the whale jumping over the boat and I knew for certain that someone somewhere has thought of, is thinking or will think of whatever clever thing that pops in to your head. The only thing you can do is not worry about it and keep expressing yourself. Also, an upside down frown still looks sad. Next time someone tells you to turn it around, punch them. Then you'll really smile.

make rockets go now

OK, I'm just gonna do it. I could wait until the end of eternity for the "right" time to start this thing or I can just do it now. This is just me. Mostly art, some random thoughts, maybe I'll throw in the key to world peace. Who knows? Guess you'll have to just keep coming back.
